JITRA, March 23 – A total of 60 percent of Heads of Household (KIR) in 56 KEDA Villages in Kedah have managed to escape the cocoon of poverty thanks to the continuous efforts of the Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA).

The achievement was driven by various forms of assistance, programs and activities provided, as well as the determination of the KEDA Village residents themselves in improving the socio-economic status of their respective families.

KEDA Board of Directors member, Datuk Aminuddin Omar said that apart from providing placements for the B40 group, they also focus on the education of children in KEDA Villages so that they get the opportunities they deserve.

“Exposure to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is given priority because this field is in high demand in the industry. If children are unable to enter university or become professionals such as lawyers and doctors, opportunities in TVET must be seized,” he said.

He said this when met at the KEDA Madani 2025 Kubang Pasu Parliament Iftar Ceremony in KEDA Malau Village, here on Saturday.

Currently, there are 3,850 houses in Desa KEDA throughout Kedah, benefiting approximately 15,000 households.
