BATU PAHAT, 13 January - Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, described the year 2025 as a significant moment, marking the beginning of an era of rapid progress for the state of Johor.
The recently signed Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) agreement is expected to transform the state's economic landscape, with the influx of high-impact investments from various fields.
"Investment will come from all over the world to Johor. We have been to Shenzhen China, we have been to Korea, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and recently in Doha.
"Everyone is confident to come to the state of Johor to invest", he said when speaking at the Chinese New Year Friendship Banquet here.
Therefore, the people of Johor are urged to be ready to seize opportunities in the employment, business and education sectors, which will flourish through the JS-SEZ.
The importance of unity regardless of race, is the basis in determining the success of the initiative.
The JS-SEZ agreement was signed on January 7, in conjunction with the 11th Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Retreat, witnessed by the Prime Ministers of both countries.
Meanwhile, the health sector in Johor will be one of the main points that will be given focus in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
Johor Health and Environment Exco, Ling Tian Soon, said that several private hospitals have shown great interest in investing in the initiative.
The strategic partnership is seen as important to strengthen the health, medical and pharmaceutical sectors, in line with the state's rapid growth.
"This year we will also receive a new hospital, namely Pasir Gudang Hospital and also this year, we have received approval from the federal government. Namely the new hospital, Hospital Sultanah Aminah 2 (HSA 2).
"And not only that, many private hospital groups have also shown their interest in investing in the state of Johor", he said at the Chinese New Year Reception here.
According to him, an allocation worth about RM10 million was also announced for the health sector in the presentation of the Johor 2025 budget, last November.
