JPJ to open counters at Putra Heights Mosque

SEPANG, April 2 - The Road Transport Department (JPJ) mobile counters will be open at the Putra Heighta Mosque temporary relief centre (PPS) starting tomorrow until Friday.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said this is to facilitate vehicle owners affected by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights yesterday can reprint damaged or lost documents.

"So for two consecutive days, we will place our mobile counters at the mosque to make it easier for owners to reprint their documents, especially vehicle certificates, driving licenses and road taxes, if they need to," he said in a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport here.

As of noon today, a total of 399 vehicles were reported damaged in the incident.

Loke said the government is also discussing with the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) to place their representatives at the PPS in order to offer advice to victims on the next steps regarding insurance claims.
