LIMA, Nov 16- The government will help facilitate the opening of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Kuala Lumpur, which was announced in February 2024.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the effort will further strengthen relations and cooperation between Malaysia and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
The Prime Minister stated this during a meeting with HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, in Lima, Peru.
"The meeting allowed us to assess cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, education, tourism and rail transit systems, in addition to discussing matters of mutual interest," Datuk Seri Anwar said.
Also present during the meeting were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Malaysian Ambassador to Peru Ahmad Irham Ikmal Hisham.
