PUTRAJAYA, March 27 – Starting April 21, 2025, all students in educational institutions under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) will be required to wear the Jalur Gemilang badge on their uniforms as an effort to instill a spirit of patriotism.
The measure involves all government schools, government-aided schools, Matriculation Colleges, and the Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education (IPGM).
MOE, through a statement today, announced that in support of the implementation, the ministry will supply two units of Jalur Gemilang badges free of charge to each student for the 2025/2026 school session.
"A Guideline for the Use of the Jalur Gemilang Badge has been prepared as a reference, which is also attached in Special Circular Letter Number 3/2025 to ensure smooth implementation.
"This initiative coincides with the role of educational institutions in fostering a spirit of patriotism, thus forming a young generation that more appreciates the value of independence and love for the country," according to the statement.
