JAKARTA, April 22 - Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is expected to pay a courtesy call on Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, in conjunction with his official working visit to the republic.
The meeting is expected to take place at Istana Merdeka, at 3 pm local time today.
The two leaders are expected to discuss various issues of mutual interest including bilateral cooperation in selected fields.
This historic meeting reflects the long-standing close relationship between Malaysia and Indonesia.
Yesterday, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi paid a courtesy call on Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and discussed current issues as well as opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, TVET, halal industry, rural development, and disaster management
Both the visit and meeting thus strengthened the mutual commitment in efforts to elevate diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia to a higher level.
