KANGAR, 26 Februari - All parties, especially the government machinery, must plan and implement activities towards the cultivation and appreciation of the content of the Quran in every level of society.

Emphasis on the teachings of the Quran is hoped to mould the people of Perlis into civilized society.

This is because the knowledge of the Qur'an is progressive and develops according to times, in line with current needs.

The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail said the Quran is packed with lessons and guidance for all mankind throughout the ages.

His Majesty decreed the people of Perlis to read, memorize, learn, deepen and appreciate the Qur'an in daily life so that it becomes a culture in the state country.

"Religious agencies, mosques and schools should play an active role in promoting the learning and appreciation of the Quran. With this cooperation, we can ensure that Quranic education is provided in a systematic and comprehensive manner, covering all levels of society. Community programs that involve the learning and appreciation of the Quran should be strengthened,"
