KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17- The upcoming ceasefire in Gaza, set to take effect this Sunday, offers a glimmer of hope for peace and recovery in Palestine following a prolonged period of conflict.

Datuk Dr. Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), has called the announcement a positive development, one that is welcomed by many.

In a statement today, he expressed full support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's stance, emphasizing that the ceasefire should serve as a crucial step toward the creation of a viable, sovereign, and independent Palestinian state.

“The people of Palestine have endured immense suffering throughout this conflict. They need the support of the global community to rebuild their lives,” he stated.

Dr. Mohd Na'im also urged Muslims to continue offering their help to the Palestinian people, demonstrating unity of spirit and heart.

“Let us pray together to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala for peace and prosperity for the people of Palestine,” he added.
