KUALA LUMPUR, April 27- Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan, is scheduled to deliver Malaysia's national statement at the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting which will be held for two days starting tomorrow in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
According to Wisma Putra, the statement to be delivered by Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan will be held in a special session and it reflects Malaysia's strong commitment in strengthening multi-lateralism and championing the voices and interests of developing countries.
The statement is also in line with the main objectives of BRICS 2025.
In addition, Malaysia will also take the opportunity at the meeting to share views and strategic priorities on pressing global issues.
As the Chairman of ASEAN 2025, Kuala Lumpur will continue to promote deeper cooperation between ASEAN and BRICS, making this meeting an important platform in strengthening international relations.
The BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting is considered an important step before the BRICS Leaders' Summit scheduled for next July.
