PORT KLANG, April 24 - The Road Transport Department (JPJ) recorded a total collection of RM24 million for special registration numbers (NPIs) of the 'A_A' series.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said bidding records showed that the highest price goes to the registration number A9A was bid at RM902,020, close to RM1 million.
This was followed by registration number A11A at RM703,007; A8A (RM700,000), A7A (RM502,000) and A2A (RM490,888).
"The five most bid numbers were A51A with 40 bidders, A101A (31 bidders), A8118A (29 bidders), A1881A (27 bidders) and lastly A19A (27 bidders).
"The total number of bidders in this series was 24,470 and 6,746 bidders successfully won their respective registration numbers," he said.
He said this at a press conference after the Launching Ceremony of the Truck Driver Training Programme for Operating Electric Vehicles (EVs) at the Port Klang Cruise Terminal (PKCT) here, today.
The bidding revenues will help to realise the government's aspiration of implementing initiatives under the Ministry of Transport (MOT) such as the MyLESEN Programme, the Helmet Exchange Programme, the FlySISWA Programme and various ministry-led initiatives for the people.
