BINTULU, April 13 - Six single-storey terrace houses were destroyed in a fire incident in Lorong B5, RPR Sebiew, early this morning.
The Fire Operations Centre received an emergency call at 12.26 midnight from a resident before a team from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival at the location, the fire was raging involving a permanent house structure measuring 20 metres x 30 metres. Three houses were completely destroyed, one house was 70 per cent burnt while two others suffered around 30 per cent damage.
A total of 67 victims were affected in this incident but no casualties were reported.
The extinguishing operation used several streams of water from CFRT, FRT Scania machinery and water tankers before the fire was fully controlled.
Also assisting at the location were seven members of the Royal Malaysia Police and three officers from SESCO.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation by the authorities.
