BUKIT PIATU, April 9- A total of 183 complaints were received regarding offences committed by road users during the Integrated Operation in conjunction with Op Khas Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA) 2025 starting from March 24 to April 7.
Deputy Director of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Melaka, Khairul Aswad Abdul Halim said the complaints were channeled through the MyJPJ application, equipped with information and evidence of offences committed by road users including photos or videos, date and time of the incident.
He said that a notice will be issued to users who are detected committing the offence within 72 hours.
"Among the highest number of complaints were related to emergency lanes, with 77 complaints issued. Followed by 36 for cutting the line, 34 for not obeying traffic signals, and 17 for cutting the double lines."
"In addition, there were nine complaints for not wearing a seatbelt or helmet, six for tinted windows, and four complaints for using a mobile phone," Khairul Aswad said, today.
He told reporters after the Integrated Operation in conjunction with HRA Special Operation 2025 on Lebuh Alor Gajah-Melaka Tengah-Jasin (AMJ), here.
Meanwhile, a total of 20,797 vehicles were inspected and 2,380 notices were issued involving various road traffic offences issued during the Integrated Operation in conjunction with Special Op HRA 2025.
Meanwhile, in Johor, a total of 7,592 summons notices were issued by the Johor JPJ, during Special Op HRA 2025, from March 31 until yesterday.
The summons issued involved various offences, with 106 vehicles also seized.
Director of the Johor JPJ, Azmil Zainal Adnan said that action was taken after 23,715 vehicles were successfully inspected during the operation.
The results of the operation also found that the level of awareness of road safety regulations among users in Johor is still low.
