KUALA LUMPUR, April 2- A total of 11 unlicensed foreign-operated businesses were raided by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) today across several prominent locations in the capital.
In a statement, DBKL revealed that the operation targeted areas including Jalan Petaling, Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin, Jalan Leboh Pudu, Jalan P. Ramlee, Masjid Jamek, the vicinity of KLCC, and the Pavilion Bukit Bintang shopping center.
The seized businesses, operated by foreigners, were involved in selling clothing, food, and beverages without proper legal authorization.
The operation was carried out in accordance with the Hawker Licensing By-Laws (WPKL) 2016. All confiscated items have been taken to the DBKL Seized Store in Jalan Lombong, Taman Miharja, Cheras, for documentation and further investigation.
DBKL is also working closely with the Malaysian Immigration Department to monitor and prevent unauthorized sales activities, particularly by non-citizens.
DBKL emphasized that it will continue to monitor these hotspot areas to ensure compliance with the law, safeguarding the well-being of city residents.
