KULAI, March 18 – Three shops in Bandar Indahpura, here, caught fire yesterday evening.
Station Officer, Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Senior Operations Commander Muhammad Fauzi Awang said the fire department received an emergency call at 4.50 pm.
Three fire brigades from three nearby stations, namely Bandar Baru Kulai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Kulai BBP, and Kempas BBP, were deployed to the scene of the incident.
"The extinguishing operation was also assisted by members of the Kulai Besar Volunteer Fire Department (PBS) with a strength of 22 firefighters, using three Fire Rescue Tenders (FRT), one Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT), one Emergency Medical Rescue Services Unit (EMRS) vehicle as well as machinery from the Kulai Besar PBS," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
Based on initial assessments, he also said the fire caused 5 percent damage to the first premise, 90 percent to the second premise, and 5 percent to the third premise.
However, the incident did not involve any casualties.
He said the cause and losses incurred are still under investigation.
