KLUANG, 21 March- School students affected by floods are allowed to attend school without wearing uniforms, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
She said this leeway is given to ensure their attendance at school is not affected, in addition to reducing the burden on parents.
"No problem. I observed some students were not wearing uniforms because they didn't have time to retrieve them before moving to the temporary evacuation center (PPS). They can continue to attend school without uniforms as long as it doesn't disrupt the learning session," she said.
"The most important thing is that they attend school dressed appropriately and respectfully," she added.
She told this to reporters when visiting the PPS at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kencana, Simpang Renggam, here, today.
Meanwhile, seven schools in Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi, and Pasir Gudang were closed today after the school areas were flooded.
In addition, 47 schools were turned into PPS to shelter flood-affected residents.
