PUTRAJAYA, APRIL 24– A total of 14,179 candidates for the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination obtained excellent results of grades A+, A, A- in all subjects, an increase compared to 11,713 candidates in 2023.
Education Director General, Datuk Azman Adnan, said the results represent 3.7 percent of the 378,606 candidates who sat for the examination this year.
According to him, the results of the 2024 SPM candidates were very commendable based on the Overall Grade Point Average (GPK) index which is getting smaller compared to previous years.
"The 2024 GPK score was recorded at 4.49 points, compared to 4.60 points in 2023, showing a decrease of 0.11 points.
"Of the total candidates who sat for the examinations, 86,040 candidates or 22.7 percent managed to obtain at least grade C (Honours) in all subjects, an increase compared to 83,112 candidates (22.3 percent) in the previous year," he said at a press conference announcing the analysis of the 2024 Malaysian Certificate of Education examination results today.
Meanwhile, 136,791 candidates or 36.1 percent passed at least grade E in all subjects, an increase compared to 131,489 candidates (35.2 percent) in 2023,"
He added that all candidates can obtain their 2024 SPM results starting at 10.00 am today at their respective schools.
Meanwhile, private school candidates can do so at the nearby State Education Department (JPN).
They can also check online at myresultspm.moe.gov.my or via SMS until April 30, at 6.00 pm.
According to him, a total of 402,918 candidates registered for the SPM written examination which was held from January 2 to February 6 at 3,337 examination centres nationwide.
