KUCHING, January 29- A total of 744 people from 207 families are affected by the floods in Sarawak, as of 8.00 this morning.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, it involves the Kuching, Samarahan, Serian and Bau districts.

"A total of 11 temporary relief centers (PPS) have so far been activated.

"This includes a new PPS which is Dewan Pangkalan Bau in the Bau district which opens at 7.40am," the statement read.

Meanwhile, the data on the number of displaced residents in several PPS has also shown an increase.
