Putra Heights incident: Detailed investigation still underway

SUBANG JAYA, 7 April- Ongoing efforts are being made to deal with the effects of the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, including assisting victims and restoring affected locations.

According to the Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, work to remove stagnant water in the main crater area of ​the incident, known as ground zero, is still ongoing.

A detailed investigation is also still underway involving more than 10 investigative agencies.

"Police investigation is now also focusing on whether there is a criminal element or negligence, not only involving human factors, but also related to high pressure lines and other technical aspects.

"The investigation will also focus on the condition of the ground zero area which is feared to be experiencing subsidence or landslides, which could threaten the safety of the rescue team," he said here.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Director-General, Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad informed that two water pumping machines are always available at the scene in case there is a need to pump out stagnant water.
