Putra Heights fire: The King grants personal donations to victims

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5- His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, graciously provided personal donations to the families of victims of the gas pipeline fire incident in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, today.

Through a post on His official Facebook page, the donations were delivered to each household head of the affected victims via the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ).

His Majesty arrived at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) Base in Subang at 8.45 am before proceeding to the Incident Control Post (PKTK) on Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights.

Earlier, His Majesty's arrival at the temporary evacuation center (PPS) was at 10.22 am, accompanied by the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Also present were the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar; Selangor Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu; Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay; and Trustee of YSIJ, Datuk Avinderjit Singh.

His Majesty was then briefed for nearly 30 minutes regarding the incident by the Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, before departing to survey the location of the incident.

Sultan Ibrahim also visited the temporary evacuation center at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Putra Heights Mosque to engage with and listen to the needs and concerns of the affected victims.

His Majesty expressed his highest appreciation to all government department staff, agencies, and non-governmental organizations who worked tirelessly to assist the fire victims.
