BUTTERWORTH, 2 November - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants investigations into any government-linked company (GLC) or private sector to be carried out without exception, in addition to imposing an action if found guilty.
He emphasised that the matter includes the issues currently affecting the National Farmers Association (NAFAS) and Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
"No one will be exempted. If the case is related to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), then the agency will conduct an investigation. Likewise, for cases involving the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
"It (the investigation) does not take into account any position or rank, whether in the government or private sector. NAFAS is an independent organisation but it is under the purview of Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM).
"I am not obstructing the investigation, if there is a report then the investigation needs to be carried out. If found guilty, then punishment needs to be meted out," he said.
He was speaking at the launch of the 2024 Hawkers and Petty Traders Day (HPPK) carnival here.
