KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25- A tanker lorry transporting palm oil skidded and overturned at about 12.30 midnight last night at kilometer 28 of the Karak Highway.
Gombak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir in a statement informed that the Gombak District Police Headquarters (IPD) received a report regarding the accident at 8.42 am this morning.
"Initial investigations found that the victim was a local man aged around 41. The victim was driving a tanker alone from Kelantan to Port Klang carrying a load of palm oil.
"Upon arriving at the scene, the tanker's brakes malfunctioned, causing it to lose control and skidded," the statement said.
The victim did not suffer any injuries and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act (RTA) 1987.
However, members of the public who saw or have information regarding the incident are asked to come forward to assist in the investigation.
