Missing autistic child found drowned

ALOR SETAR, January 11- A boy with autism, Firash Daniel Muhammad Hafeez Ansle, 7, who was reported missing near his home in Taman Tunku Tabor, Jalan Gangsa here yesterday, was found drowned in Sungai Kedah.

Kota Setar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Siti Nor Salawati said the victim was found at approximately 8.15 am after the search operation resumed today.

Firash Daniel's body was found about 100 meters from his family's house, close to the river bank.

According to Siti Nor Salawati, the victim's mother realised her son was missing at 4.30 pm yesterday and immediately reported the incident to the Kota Setar District Police Headquarters (IPD).

The search operation started at 6 pm, involving 30 officer who were deployed to the residential area, along the coast of Sungai Kedah and the surrounding area.

On the evening of the incident, the victim's mother found Firash Daniel's clothes and shoes by the drain about 200 meters from their house.

The drain is between one and 1.5 metres deep and flows into Sungai Kedah which is located behind the Muzium Negeri.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
