PUTRAJAYA, March 19 - Malaysia is ready to receive 15 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel.
This follows peace efforts under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza agreed upon by the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the MADANI Government Spokesperson, said several matters are being refined, in addition to the location of the settlement before bringing the Palestinians involved to this country.
However, strict monitoring and security conditions will be imposed on them.
"But of course aspects of their movements, their whereabouts. Strict monitoring will be carried out by the security agencies and they will be imposed or placed on several conditions regarding their activities in Malaysia. So, strict monitoring will be carried out by the security agencies.
"These 15 people are not yet in Malaysia. The process has not started and we are aware of the current situation in Gaza, as a result or follow-up to the Israeli attack yesterday, so the process of discussion in regards to the ceasefire is taking place, so we are following that process", he said.
He said this at a weekly press conference in Putrajaya.
