KUALA LUMPUR, 29 January – Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to assist in rebuilding Gaza continue to gain recognition, underscoring the country’s unwavering commitment both locally and internationally.
Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, Walid Abu Ali, emphasized that Malaysia’s support for the Palestinian cause plays a significant role in advancing the fight for the rights of the Palestinian people.
“The health system in Gaza has completely collapsed, as has the education system. Over 700,000 Palestinian students have lost a year and a half of their studies, and more than 60 percent of Gaza’s hospitals have been destroyed or damaged,” he said.
“Only a few hospitals remain operational, and with limited medical facilities, many injured individuals are seeking treatment in Malaysia and nearby countries. It’s crucial for the international community to urgently provide emergency health assistance to those in desperate need,” he added.
Walid highlighted that the immediate priority is addressing basic humanitarian needs in Gaza, such as providing clean air, water, food, and shelter.
