GEORGE TOWN, 10 March- The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) is continuing dialogue sessions with industry players in the electrical and electronics (E&E) and semiconductor sectors to gather feedback on specific requirements for enhancing student skills.

Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, said it provides the best input to the Ministry in building the student talents needed by the industry today.

"Getting feedback from those who manage and operate these relevant industries, as the government wants to get their views on how we can work together with the industry, especially in the context of the relationship between academia, that is between universities and the industry," he said.

"Because one of the approaches the government is now taking is to emphasize the world of education from the aspect of prioritizing the needs of the industry, so we need to understand what the big issues really are," he added.

Zambry was speaking to reporters after attending the Kembara Ramadan KPT 2025 programme at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

Also present were the Director-General of Higher Education, Professor Datuk Dr Azlinda Azman, and the Vice-Chancellor of USM, Professor Datuk Seri Ir. Dr Abdul Rahman Mohamed.

USM is Zambry's fourth university has visited through the program.

More than 40 industry partners, who are strategic partners of KPT and USM, are involved in the engagement collaboration to empower the country's higher education sector.
