KUALA LUMPUR, March 26- The government has agreed to provide a 50 percent toll discount for two days in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2025, as decided in a Cabinet Meeting today.
Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the discount will begin at 12.01 midnight, March 28, 2025 (Friday) and end at 11.59 pm, March 29, 2025 (Saturday).
According to him, the government will bear the financial implications of RM19.69 million as compensation to the toll concessionaires involved.
"The provision of this toll discount is a continuation of the festive season toll assistance that has been provided by the Madani Government since 2023 for the four major festivals in the Peninsular.
"It is in line with the main thrust of the Malaysia's Madani Government, namely wellbeing and kindness, in an effort to help ease the cost of living of the people," he said in a statement.
The toll discount is only given to Class 1 private vehicles at all toll plazas, except for the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Toll Plaza, North-South Expressway (PLUS) and Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza, Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway (LINKEDUA).
The government urges highway users to plan their journeys well to avoid traffic congestion during the Aidilfitri holiday.
