KUALA LUMPUR, 24 March- A total of 3,894 people from 1,154 families are affected by the floods in Johor as of 6 am today.
This marked an increase compared to 3,827 people from 1,126 families as of midnight last night.
The National Disaster Control Centre (NDCC) portal of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) informed that 24 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been activated in the state.
"Johor Bahru is the worst-affected district in the state, recording 2,409 flood victims from 727 families. They are housed in nine PPS," NDCC said.
"Pontian recorded 553 flood victims, Kluang (487 people), Batu Pahat (358 people), and Kota Tinggi (87 people)," it said.
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, a total of 451 people from 145 families remain housed in five PPS in the state.
"Kanowit is the worst-affected district in Sarawak, sheltering 185 people from 72 families in one PPS," NDCC said.
"This is followed by Kapit, with 128 people affected. Selangau has 89 people affected, while Sibu has 49 people affected," it added.
In Sabah, a total of 306 people from 86 families have been affected by the floods.
This figure remains the same compared to midnight last night.
All of them are housed in one PPS in the state.
It only involves the Sebauh district.
