BATU PAHAT, April 5 - The number of people affected by the floods at the Temporary Relief Centre (PPS) of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Gading, Batu Pahat, Johor has increased to 254 people, compared to 244 people, as of 12 midnight.

The PPS was opened at 2.00 pm, following flash floods that hit Kampung Baharu, Batu Pahat.

According to a statement from the District Disaster Management Committee, the PPS accommodated 88 families from the village.

Sungai Senggarang, Batu Pahat is also at a warning level of 3.36 metres and Sungai Lenik in Ladang Chaah, Batu Pahat is at an alert level of 5.00 metres. In addition, Sungai Batu Pahat at the Batu Pahat Irrigation and Drainage Department is at an alert level of 2.30 metres.

Members of the Johor Malaysian Civil Defence Force are also monitoring at locations which are at risk of flooding.
