KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20– Civil servants who opted for the Public Service Compensation System (SSPA) have begun receiving their first salary increase following the adjustment under the scheme, which took effect yesterday.

Many expressed their gratitude to the MADANI Government for implementing this salary revision, marking the first adjustment in 12 years.

One civil servant, Sahzan Fazli Zainuddin, stated that the salary increase was eagerly awaited by public sector workers as it would help alleviate the pressures of rising living costs. "This salary boost will help ease some of the burden and allow civil servants to save for the future," he said.

Siti Noorain Abdullah, another civil servant, also expressed her appreciation, noting that the increase would particularly benefit the B40 group with lower incomes. "This increase will help us manage our daily expenses. For the M40 group, it offers a chance to save for retirement," she shared.

Ramli Abdullah thanked Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the timely salary adjustment. "This increase is extremely helpful, especially for future savings," he said.

The salary adjustment is part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of civil servants, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by the rising cost of living.
