KUALA LUMPUR, April 20- Minister of Communications, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil expressed his condolences to the family of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) news journalist, Marlia Mohamed, who passed away at her home in Shah Alam, Selangor, this evening.

According to Fahmi, the deceased was a recipient of the Kasih@HAWANA fund.

The donation was presented during the iftar ceremony with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Seri Perdana Complex, which Fahmi also attended, last year.

"Today I received sad news from my friends at RTM. May they be strong and patient while facing this loss.

"Let's all pray that her soul is showered with blessings and placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah," he said in a Facebook post.

The deceased, 44, was permanently disabled due to diabetes which she had suffered from since 2009.

Marlia began suffering from diabetes after giving birth to her only son and her left leg had to be amputated up to the thigh due to a bacterial infection in November 2023.
