KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hopes this year's Deepavali celebration can lead Malaysia to a brighter future.
According to him, Deepavali celebrations can be a platform for achieving shared prosperity, strengthening the pursuit of goodness and justice.
Anwar said this in his speech at the Deepavali Madani 2024 Open House here.
In his brief speech, Anwar added, "this aligns with the history and significance of the Festival of Lights, which goes beyond more than just eating and drinking".
"Hopefully, the spirit of Deepavali will allow the Hindu community and other friends to lead Malaysia towards a brighter light," he said in his speech.
Thousands of people attended the open house which was held in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration today.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, as well as other ministers and deputy ministers.
