LABUAN, January 27- Three focal points are the priorities of the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) during the Ops Rondaan and Fire Safety Campaign in conjunction with the 2025 Chinese New Year celebration in Labuan.
Among them is ensuring fire safety in crowded premises.
In addition, JBPM also focuses on ensuring public safety while embarking on road trips as well as increasing public awareness on the safety of human lives and property.
Labuan JBPM Deputy Director Emil Taihin said monitoring and enforcement will be implemented to achieve the goal.
"I believe that other enforcement agencies are also involved in helping us to make sure that the premises are in good condition. These include routes such as highways for which certain parties are helping us", he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Labuan Corporation, Simsudin Sidek said owners of premises need to be aware of the guidelines set by the JBPM to avoid any untoward incidents.
"I would like to call on the owners of business premises in particular to always comply with all the guidelines set by the Fire Department and the instructions given by the Fire Department to ensure that the safety of their respective premises is taken care of", he said.
He said this to reporters after launching the Fire Safety Campaign and Ops Rondaan programme in conjunction with the 2025 Chinese New Year celebration at the Labuan International Ferry Terminal.
During the launch, tangerines and pamphlets were also handed out in conjunction with the celebration.
Also present were the Chief Executive Officer of LDA Labuan Sdn Bhd Noor Halim Zaini and the Labuan Tionghua Chamber of Commerce Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii.
