KANGAR, Dec 22- The "Mai Derma Darah Be A Hero" blood donation campaign, which was carried out in 20 series from April 2023 to December 2024, successfully collected 863 packs of blood.

Kangar Puteri Umno chief, Nor Siti Hajar Razali, said the programme, held every month, is a continuous social responsibility to the community to increase blood supply stocks at the Transfusion Unit, Pathology Department, Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF).

The initiative, implemented since 2023, will continue throughout 2025 following HTF's increasing need for sufficient blood supply for emergency treatments.

With each session, the goal is to obtain 50 blood packs, but the actual collection often surpasses this, reflecting the local community's compassion and awareness of the need for blood during emergencies.

She said this at the closing event for 2024, which took place at the Transfusion Unit in the Pathology Department of HTF, here.

A total of 507 blood packs were collected from community donations this year, exceeding the initial goal of 500.

The program is organized by the Kangar Umno Division, coordinated by its Puteri wing, in collaboration with the HTF Blood Bank Unit.
