BAYAN LEPAS, March 5– Police confirmed the discovery of a bag containing objects suspected of being ammunitions in a rubbish dump of an apartment in Bukit Jambul, here.

Timur Laut District Police Chief, ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad said his department received information about the discovery at about 1.40pm on Tuesday following report from the public.

"Inspection found that the bag contained a number of live and empty 22 caliber ammunitions that were left at the location by an unknown individual.

"The police are taking this case seriously as it could endanger public safety," he said in a statement.

According to him, investigations are being conducted from various angles and the case is being investigated under Section 8(A) of the Arms Act 1960.
