MARANG, March 23 - Four Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) staff and a patient faced a fearful moment when the ambulance they were travelling in skidded and hit a tree.
The incident occurred at Kilometer 49 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu Kuantan, near Kampung Jambu Bongkok, Marang, last night.
The accident at about 12.30pm occurred while the ambulance was travelling from Hospital Kemaman to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Kuala Terengganu.
Marang District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Sofian Redzuan said the vehicle was driven by a 41-year-old man with a 28-year-old female doctor, two nurses and a 21-year-old patient.
The accident is believed to have occurred when the left rear tire of the vehicle burst, causing it to skid and hit a tree on the left side of the road.
The ambulance driver and all passengers who suffered minor injuries were taken to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah Kuala Terengganu for treatment.
