JOHOR BAHRU, 28 January - The Johor Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) repatriated 179 foreign national detainees to their country of origin throughout this week, after they completed their prison terms for various immigration offenses including under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963 .
Johor JIM said in a statement that the repatriation was done through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) I and II, as well as Stulang Laut Ferry Terminal, Johor Bahru.
"The foreigners involved are 107 Myanmar nationals, 45 Bangladeshi nationals, 11 Indonesian nationals, eight Nepalese nationals, five Indian nationals, two Vietnamese nationals and one Sudanese national," according to the statement.
All of them have been issued temporary travel documents to return to their countries of origin by the embassies of their respective countries.
They are also blacklisted in the JIM system and are not allowed to re-enter the country within a specified period.
The cost of their flight ticket is fully covered by their savings and contributions from family members.
