KUALA LUMPUR, August 25 - 15 Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in the capital was inspected by the Malaysian Fire And Rescue Department (JBPM) to ensure the enforcement of the Fire Services Act 1988 (Act 341) has been complied fully by the premises recently.

JBPM in a statement said, the result of the inspection finds the premises need to make several improvements, including the public address system, the main panel of the fire prevention system, the 'pressurerise' system in the fire escape and emergency lights that are not in the best condition.

“All of the findings will be recorded before the requirements to be complied (FC6) notice will be issued to the premises for compliance purposes.

“This inspection is one of JBPM’s standby measures in ensuring the Fire Safety Action Plan in the premises is functioning and in a good condition,” he said.

Other than that, the inspection is also to ensure the Fire Safety Action Plan is in a good condition during an incident or fire to ensure the safety of life and property.

The operation was carried out for two days starting on August 21 led by Kuala Lumpur JBPM Fire Safety assistant director Mohamad Hamizal Ainuddin.
