IPOH, April 20- A total of 136 individuals were stranded following the collapse of the bridge to Kampung Tisong, causing the main route to Felda Sungai Klah Hot Spring, Kampung Tisong, Sungkai and Buyong Mas Sanctuary Camp Site to be completely cut off.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department's (JBPM) Assistant Director of the Operations Division, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, his side received an emergency call regarding the incident at 10.46 am today.
He said those stranded consisted of 81 students from Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah, Behrang; 10 workers from Buyong Mas Sanctuary Camp Site and 45 individuals (39 adults, 16 children) from 17 families in the Sungai Klah Hot Spring area.
He said rescue efforts were being carried out in collaboration with several other agencies to bring out all the victims via alternative routes that have been identified.
